High Concentration Hawthorn Extract
Hawthorn Extract (10:1) 500mg by Essentialseries is a food supplement in vegetable capsules, containing extract from the plant Crataegus laevigata, obtained from the concentration of its stems, fruits, and leaves, as well as thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1).
The plant Crataegus laevigata is known globally as Hawthorn, colloquially referred to as Midland Hawthorn or English Hawthorn. All these terms refer to the same plant whose parts (used for the extract) are very rich in polyphenols of recognised nutritional interest.
The main functions of Hawthorn are linked to heart function*.
Authentic High-Quality Hawthorn - Get to Know It
Standardisation Ensured in Every Batch
The nutritional characteristics of Hawthorn depend on its content of relevant bioactive components, which are strongly influenced by the treatment the plant receives.
Extracts must undergo important quality controls to ensure the content of these relevant compounds is adequate. At HSN we have total control over the minimum content in each production batch, which is why our Hawthorn extract has a minimum concentration of 5% proanthocyanidins and 1.5% flavonoids.
The daily dose of our Hawthorn extract guarantees a minimum content of 50mg of proanthocyanidins and 15mg of flavonoids.
Extraction from the Most Valued Parts of the Plants
A plant does not have the same concentration of active compounds in all its parts, meaning not all parts of the same plant are equal. At HSN we carry out precise documentation control of which parts from which plants are most relevant from a nutritional perspective and ensure we use those parts for our extracts.
The Hawthorn extract has been concentrated from the use of:
- Stems.
- Fruits.
- Leaves.
From the plant species, which are the segments that contain the most significant amount of the most important polyphenols in Hawthorn.
Concentration x10 - More Per Capsule
Depending on the characteristics of the extraction process, an extract can be more or less concentrated. Evidently, the more concentrated extracts are considered of better quality, as long as this does not affect the bioactive content of the extract.
Our Hawthorn extract is 10 times more concentrated, the daily dose of 1000mg provides the equivalent of 10 grams of the native parts of Hawthorn used for its preparation.
Our extract’s concentration is maximum and, thanks to this, we achieve the best results with a smaller amount, by obtaining more concentrated capsules with a smaller size. This makes them easier to swallow.
Why Does It Contain Vitamin B1?
Thiamine or vitamin B1 is a water-soluble vitamin from the B group, nutritionally essential. It has been added to the extract for its synergistic properties, as:
Thiamine contributes to the normal functioning of the heart.
An unbeatable combination for the best effects with the use of this extract!
A Plant Full of Properties
* Hawthorn regulates heart activity, hence its synergistic effects with thiamine.
The main use attributed to this species is linked to the functioning of the cardiac and vascular system*. Nevertheless, it also has other functions, as:
- It is used to achieve better sleep.
- It helps reduce irritability and tension.
It is an excellent aid to take care of yourself to the fullest.

I am taking HSN Hawthorn to help regulate my heart rate and I notice it brings me a sense of calm. I have noticed less palpitations in times of stress and better stability in heart activity. I like that it is a natural product and easy to take in capsules. The value for money is excellent, so I will continue to incorporate it into my routine.
