Highly branched cyclic dextrin (Cluster Dextrin™) from RawSeries is a powdered dietary supplement based on highly branched cyclic dextrinCluster Dextrin™.
Cluster Dextrin (Dextina Cíclica Altamente Ramificada) is a new type of dextrin produced from amylopectin via cyclization reaction of a branching enzyme (EC 2.4.1.18)
The authentic Cluster Dextrin™ contains no added sugars in its composition and is vegetarian friendly.
Properties of Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin
Carbohydrates
The carbohydrates contribute to recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after intense or prolonged physical exercise that leads to muscle fatigue and depletion of stored glycogen in skeletal muscles.1

Molecular weight distribution
Cluster Dextrin™ has a narrower molecular weight distribution than other dextrins.
This can be partly due to the high specificity of the branching enzymes used in its production.
Cluster Dextrin™ has a high molecular weight.
Water soluble and stable
Although Cluster Dextrin™ has a high molecular weight, it also has high solubility.
A solution of Cluster Dextrin™ has the following characteristics compared with other dextrins of similar glucose equivalents:
- Produces a low osmotic pressure in the solution.
- Increases the amount of carbohydrates to use per volume of liquid.
Low sweetness
The sweetness level of Cluster Dextrin™ is extremely low, due to its high purity and the fact that it contains fewer low-molecular-weight substances.
This is another differentiating feature of the product:
Higher concentrations can be used in the solution, as they do not significantly alter sweetness and don’t give a thirst sensation.
