What is Inulin Powder?
Inulin Powder by RawSeries is a vegan food supplement in powdered form, Inulin from Cichorium intybus roots.
Inulin is a fructan with a linear structure and a 'long' chain. A fructan is a compound characterised by fructose units linked together in a configuration that prevents them from being degraded in the stomach, which is why they are categorised as 'dietary fibre'.
This food supplement is 100% suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.

Inulin is used as a texturiser, bulking agent and thickener. Many people use it in their recipes for these properties.
More specifically, inulin acts as a mimetic of fat sources added to baked goods (such as cakes and biscuits), increasing the softness of the food in the mouth, making it creamier.
Furthermore, inulin is sweet, albeit in a limited form. It is 3 times less sweet than sugar, but this is the reason why it also serves as a substitute for sugar in your recipes; it allows you to add less sugar, maintaining the taste and texture properties it provides, but with a lower calorie content.
