The amino acid profile measures the content of amino acids in a specific protein. It is common to find lower quality proteins (nutritionally) or those marketed by less committed brands that do not break down the amino acid content of their proteins.

The raw material of Evolate 2.0 is 90% protein whey protein isolate (Whey Protein Isolate).

This means that the base of the protein raw material used to prepare the flavours of Evolate 2.0 has a content of around 90g of protein per 100g of product.

And why don't all flavours of Evolate have this content?

The protein content of Evolate 2.0 flavours fluctuates between 75g/100g for double chocolate flavour and 90g/100g for flavours like white chocolate and lemon. These variations are due to the other ingredients, besides the protein itself, used to create the flavour. In fact, chocolate flavours that contain cocoa are the ones with the 'least' protein content because the cocoa accounts for a significant % of the formula: Double Chocolate contains up to 15g less protein per 100g of product because it has a large amount of pure cocoa to achieve its intense and characteristic flavour that has enamoured many of our Evolate-lovers. On the other hand, flavours like Vanilla barely impact the protein content of the base raw material because they require only a small amount of aroma and nothing more, and that almost doesn't take up part of the total composition.

Protein powders (as well as protein-rich foods) have different analytical methods to control protein quality, such as biological value or PDCAAS, as the most prominent.

Evolate 2.0 is the ideal protein for cutting

As we mentioned earlier, Evolate 2.0, like other isolated proteins on the market, has been recognised for its easy adaptability during calorie restriction periods, as it is such a concentrated source of protein with such a low content of other caloric nutrients, which is why the 'iso' has always been the perfect protein for 'cutting'.

However, this is not the only use for this protein, as for many years, whey isolates have been relegated to the role of a cutting protein, with no use during the rest of the year, but why?

When to take Evolate 2.0 - Ideal for any time

It's normal to have doubts about when to use protein powder because there is a lot of misinformation on the internet, but HSN will explain it to you simply:

Evolate 2.0 is food in powder form, meaning it is a food that has been processed to maximise its protein content, making it practically pure protein. So... when is the best time to eat a chicken breast? It seems like a strange question, doesn't it? The best time is whenever you want to eat it. Well, the same goes for Evolate 2.0, you can take it any time you want to consume a good source of dietary protein.

The advantage of Evolate 2.0 and other protein powders is that they are very practical. Being instant powder, you can carry them in a shaker, and just by adding water, you can consume a significant amount of protein for your diet quickly, cleanly, practically, and deliciously without having to carry containers or deal with heavy digestion.

As a recommendation: if you are looking for a protein to use at night, it is preferable to opt for caseins, which are options with a slower absorption rate that release gradually over the hours you sleep.

Can I take more than one scoop of Evolate 2.0 per shake? And more than one shake a day?

Yes to both questions.

Our nutrinfo service experts and our general customer service department frequently receive this question. We are always ready to help with whatever you need, but this question has a simple answer.

Evolate 2.0, like other protein powders, are, as we have clarified before, Foods. So...

Would you ask if you can only eat 100g of beef? Or if you can eat fish more than once a day?

These questions don't make sense, do they? The answer would always be 'Yes' and 'Depending on...' your needs, goals, or what's in your fridge. Well, Evolate 2.0 works the same way, many people still believe that exceeding 30g of protein powder per shake will cause a % of it not to be absorbed. This is one of the biggest myths in nutrition; protein is 100% absorbed, regardless of the amount consumed, and it takes more or less time to absorb. Of course, if you are a large person with significant body weight, or have just trained on an empty stomach, you need more protein than someone smaller or with different goals or scenarios, and you can add 30, 40, 60g or as much as you need to your shake.

If your question is more related to how much Evolate you should consume, the truth is there is no single answer for that. It depends on the amount of protein you need to consume in your diet. How to prepare Evolate 2.0? What do I need?

Water and a mixer, it couldn't be easier, right?

From here, you can develop much more how to prepare your best Evolate shake. For example, you can replace water with other types of beverages. If you are going to take a strawberry or raspberry Evolate, you can mix it with natural red fruit juice; if you are going to take a chocolate or caramel Evolate, you can mix it with milk to get a thicker and tastier shake; or with plant milk a coconut Evolate, to get a shake with a plant-based fruity flavour.

Can I take it with milk or plant-based milk? Does it change anything? 

You can mix Evolate 2.0 with the drink of your choice, there really is no problem mixing it with any type of drink you enjoy. Of course, there are options that don't go well together, for example, the combination of a flavour like coffee with orange juice is strange and not to most people's taste, but there is no incompatibility of use.

Since Evolate flavours have a very distinct taste profile, it is usually recommended to combine them with neutral-tasting drinks, such as water, milk, or plant-based milks.

However, not everyone prepares them this way. Many people, for example, prepare Cold Brew and mix in a shaker Evolate 2.0 of a flavour like cocoa or vanilla to create a kind of cold, lacteal, and protein-rich Caffè Latte; a real fit delight, easy to prepare, in summer with ice. How about that?

Nothing changes in terms of the nutritional characteristics Evolate provides based on the liquid it's mixed with: it doesn't absorb more, less, faster, or slower.

Is it suitable for cooking? Does it lose effectiveness when heated?

You can cook recipes with Evolate 2.0, from simple preparations like smoothies to more complex ones like cakes or pancakes. It is difficult to integrate Evolate because of its sweet flavour into savoury recipes, but if you see the opportunity, experiment!

Using proteins for cooking has always raised a lot of uncertainty because of the concept of denaturation. Protein denaturation is a normal process that does not affect the nutritional quality or effects of the proteins consumed in the diet. It only affects the biological relevance of the intact protein, which is irrelevant nutritionally since our intestines absorb only amino acids and small peptides.

A tip: if you mix Evolate 2.0 in very hot liquid, to the point of boiling, you cause thermal damage to the powder, making it lose its ability to mix, ruining the protein's solubility. Therefore, we recommend mixing it with cold, warm, or hot liquids but avoiding boiling to prevent this.

What is Evolate 2.0's raw material?

We have been working with Fonterra raw materials in our whey proteins for years. We are major clients of the dairy producer, which we have chosen for proteins like our Evolate or Evowhey because their quality is excellent, and the nutritional and organoleptic uniformity of their batches is very controlled. Moreover, they care for the livestock, supporting local farmers and ensuring animal welfare in their dairy facilities. In fact, they guarantee the grass-fed status of the milk used to produce our proteins.

Fonterra's protein can come to us from their plant in Lithuania, the UK, or the Netherlands. There are slight differences noticeable in the raw material, not nutritionally significant as it is always the same raw material from the same company. However, being a natural product with minimal processing, you may notice the differences that the same raw material from different origins presents.

The nuance of 'whenever they can supply the quantities we need for production' refers to the possibility that at a certain point we request raw material from Fonterra, and they cannot supply us, not even from the combination of the distribution of raw material from each of their plants. This is because as producers, we manufacture large batches of Evolate and purchase tonnes of raw material; this problem does not affect small brands producing a few kg of product. However, we have received responses from Fonterra that they do not have the quantity we need available, impossible.

In these cases, we have alternative certified suppliers by our quality department, who provide us with raw material nutritionally and organoleptically equivalent to the one we usually use from Fonterra. We do not innovate here; we have a few dairy producers that meet our quality standards, and when we need more raw material, we turn to them. They are always of European origin.

Do the flavours containing 'instant coffee' have caffeine?

The latte coffee and coffee and caramel flavours contain some caffeine, from the soluble coffee used to achieve the flavour of Evolate 2.0.

The reason for not using decaffeinated coffee for the flavours is that we do not achieve the intensity we seek. The instant coffee we use is of very high quality, with an American roast that achieves delicious nuances in the coffee bean. The caffeine content of our instant coffee is not high, and we do not seek to add caffeine to our coffee-flavoured proteins. The caffeine content of an Evolate coffee shake is barely equivalent to a few ounces of dark chocolate.

The flavours that do not contain coffee, of course, do not have this characteristic. Evolate 2.0 is a stimulant-free protein as such.

What does 'CFM' mean in Evolate 2.0?

Cross-Flow Microfiltration.

It is the method used to obtain the isolated protein, involving its filtration through a cross-flow membrane system with a specific micropore size to obtain the purest naturally present protein in cow's milk whey.

Can I mix Evolate and Creatine in the same shake?

Can I use Evolate with amino acids? Do I have to?

It is not necessary to combine them unless you are looking for the specific nutritional effects of a particular amino acid (for example, beta-alanine). Evolate 2.0's amino acid content is complete at a nutritional level, and you do not need to add BCAA's, EAA's or Glutamine (for example) to enrich it.

Why doesn't Evolate have only one ingredient?

To develop the flavours, we need to add ingredients that give it taste, such as coffee or cocoa; the aromas and sweeteners; if not added, it is impossible to achieve a flavoured Evolate.

Likewise, the raw material as it reaches us is not 'single ingredient' either, as it contains lecithins, natural phospholipids from plants that allow the protein to mix with a shaker.

Do I have unflavoured options available?

You can use 100% Whey Protein Isolate from our brand RawSeries to use the same protein as Evolate 2.0 but unflavoured, literally the same raw material we use in Evolate 2.0, but packaged before developing our own flavours.
