'Fit' Style Ready Meals - To Take Care of Yourself
'Fit' style ready meals from FoodSeries are traditionally cooked dishes, packaged in a protective atmosphere to keep them in perfect condition. They’re specially designed for people following high-protein diets, like athletes, who need recipes tailored to their nutritional needs for those moments when time is tight.
You’ve got tons of recipes to choose from based on your preferences. All dishes are crafted in an artisanal way, using cooking methods you could easily use at home to prepare your meals—no weird or 'artificial' stuff here. Enjoy balanced and delicious combos of carbs and proteins.
If you train regularly and usually prepare meals making sure to keep protein content high, and you need options to take on the go or whip up when you’re in a rush, Fit ready meals are your best bet.
What Are You Craving Today?
Sometimes, a common downside of diets for athletes and people following generally high-protein diets based on real, natural foods, who aren’t really into cooking, is that they end up eating bland chicken and rice dishes, maybe with just a sprinkle of some spice when grilling the chicken.
At HSN, we want to offer you the classic base you’re used to—chicken and rice—with a couple of alternatives (bulgur + chicken / pasta + chicken), but upgrading your boiled rice and grilled chicken recipe to more elaborate preparations, using juicier lean chicken parts and rice that’s not just boiled with water and salt.
Enjoy international dishes with delicious fit sauces, with fewer calories than traditional sauces from dishes not aimed at maintaining a healthy lifestyle; at HSN, we’ve combined healthy living, balanced nutrition, and the classic taste with natural ingredients, no artificial flavorings.
Here are some options of HSN’s Fit style ready meals:
- Bulgur with chicken in French-style mustard sauce.
- Chicken and rice in Indian-style curry sauce.
- Chicken and rice in Asian-style sauce.
- Chicken and rice in spicy Mexican-style sauce.
- Pasta with chicken in Italian-style sauce.

Why Keep Them in Your Pantry?
Some people love cooking, spend time preparing meals with fresh ingredients, and even look for new pantry additions to keep things exciting; others don’t, and that’s totally fine.
It’s common for athletes who spend lots of time training, or people who may not be super sporty but hit the gym and follow high-protein diets while working or studying long hours, to eat mostly white rice, chicken, lean cold cuts, egg whites, etc. While common, these diets can get pretty boring.
With HSN’s ready meals, you break the monotony; they’re perfect for a busy cooking lover to enjoy an exotic, delicious, and healthy dish without spending time; and for someone who doesn’t usually cook to remember what it’s like to eat a sauce that’s not just ketchup or zero-barbecue.
Don’t worry, the sauces aren’t calorie bombs—they barely impact nutrition, but the flavor they bring is next level. After trying them, you might decide to swap several meals a week for our recipes regularly.
No prep needed: just pop the tray straight into the microwave at max power for 2 minutes and a half—ready to eat!
You can also empty the tray contents into a pan and heat over medium heat for 10 minutes, but the result is the same.
Another common issue for people on high-protein diets is a fridge packed to the brim with meats, fish, eggs, dairy, cheese, and protein-rich foods.
If fridge space is tight or you’re tired of ready meals from other brands that need refrigeration and take up whole shelves, HSN makes it easy for you.
Our meals, packaged in a protective atmosphere, keep at room temperature thanks to thermal sterilization after packaging. They don’t need refrigeration for microbiological safety or to keep their flavor perfectly for months.
Still, you need to store them properly—they’re prepared meals, and not needing a fridge doesn’t mean you can just leave them anywhere. We recommend following these tips to enjoy their flavor at its best:
- Keep the tray with the cardboard sleeve on; it has info like macros and ingredients, plus it helps you identify the dish you’re about to eat.
- Don’t pierce the tray—it seems obvious, but don’t open or remove the plastic seal, as it creates the protective atmosphere that preserves the meal; once opened, you need to prepare it for eating.
- Store trays away from light and heat, as these external factors harm preservation. Don’t keep trays in cupboards above your cooking area, since steam humidity negatively affects the food.
As you can see, just a few simple things to keep in mind to ensure your ready meals stay in top shape—easier than recipes that need refrigeration.
Ready in under 3 minutes
Although ready meals can be part of your daily diet since they’re nutritionally healthy options with delicious flavors and a wide variety so you don’t eat the same thing every day, many people keep them in their pantry as a practical tool for when they’re in a hurry.
Imagine you have a commitment in an hour, need to get dressed, travel... and you haven’t eaten yet. Maybe you won’t have time to cook and end up just making a turkey cold cut sandwich to go quick, but why settle for that?
HSN’s ready meals are a more practical solution—you have them ready in 2 minutes and a half in the microwave.
Remove the cardboard sleeve and recycle it in the blue bin, pierce or open the plastic lid sealing the tray, and heat for 2:30 min while you get changed.
When you’re ready, your HSN Fit recipe will be too; just remove the plastic lid and eat straight from the tray—no mess, no washing up, you’ve prepared a meal in 2 minutes that’s not a sandwich, and you’ve eaten a good portion of nutritionally balanced and delicious food.
Ready in 15 minutes! Out the door having eaten like you cooked the meal yourself.
Portion size is always something to consider—it can’t be too big to avoid food waste, nor too small, since at HSN we don’t sell ready meals that leave you hungry.
And while our ready meals can be a convenient starter as part of a menu, they’re also suitable as a complete meal, for example with a low-fat yogurt dessert, accompanied by our protein bread.
Each tray contains 420 g of food, a generous portion that can be split between two people with normal appetites if used as a starter. As a main dish, it’s perfect for one person and works for lunch, dinner, or a snack.
Enjoy balanced meals with generous portions that aren’t over the top, thanks to HSN’s ready meals.
HSN’s Fit recipes are inspired by traditional dishes from around the world. Although the bases are similar—using rice, pasta, and bulgur with chicken—the sauces are uniquely inspired by the gastronomy of different countries.
Enjoy whichever you like best:
- France: mustard sauce.
- India: curry sauce.
- Asia: soy sauce.
- Mexico: spicy vegetable and bean sauce.
- Italy: tomato sauce.
You can pick from the different Fit ready meal options without worrying about calories, since nutritional variation between dishes due to their sauces is minor; so you can buy one or several of each and keep them in your pantry to eat deliciously, varied, and healthily.
No more eating the same thing! Enjoy variety with HSN’s ready meals.
100% natural ingredients: It’s normal to have questions about the preparation process of these recipes, since precooked meals are often linked to large amounts of unhealthy ingredients, additives, and preservatives.
However, you won’t find that in HSN’s recipes. Our preparation is traditional, using real ingredients, without preservatives, colorants, or other additives. Preservation is natural thanks to thermal sterilization and the protective atmosphere created by the film sealing the tray.
Enjoy delicious and healthy dishes without additives you wouldn’t use in your own cooking.
High-Protein Recipes
All HSN ready meal types share common nutritional features, including:
Our recipes always include one or more foods naturally high in protein, like the meats in our Fit and Gourmet dishes, or the legume and cereal combos in our Veggie recipes.
That’s why HSN ready meals are characteristically high in protein, perfect for balanced diets for athletes and anyone looking to care for their protein intake.
All HSN dishes are traditionally prepared with real foods, no additives.
- Complex carbohydrate content
We always select complex carbs for our recipes: pasta, rice, buckwheat, and derivatives.
Enjoy energizing meals with carb content that’s adequate (meaning these aren’t Keto-friendly recipes), but not excessive, making them a great option for people watching their calorie intake.
- Low in sugars and saturated fats.
At HSN, thanks to our team of nutritionists who stay updated with the latest scientific evidence, we’re fully aware of public health policies regarding reducing sugar and saturated fat intake—nutrients whose excess contributes to diseases like metabolic syndrome and all it entails (hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.).
With our recipes, of course, we don’t add to this global problem. All our dishes are prepared without sacrificing flavor, using healthy fat sources like unrefined rapeseed oil, and complex carbs low in sugars.
Enjoy healthy eating while taking care of yourself with HSN’s Fit recipes.
Why Use Rapeseed Oil? Busting the Myth!
Rapeseed oil has a pretty bad reputation, partly undeserved.
The rapeseed oil problem came from a mass poisoning in Spain in the 1980s, when people bought street-sold rapeseed oil produced and sold without control, passed off as olive oil. This rapeseed oil was denatured and made from seeds treated with a pesticide harmful to human health. This happened because as olive oil prices rose, irresponsible farmers profited by disguising rapeseed oil as cheap olive oil.
Since that scandal, rapeseed oil has been unfairly feared, but what happened isn’t related to rapeseed or its oil, but to irresponsible business practices decades ago when sanitary controls were weaker—and this could have happened with any oil.
Another reason rapeseed oil gets a bad rap is because, as a vegetable oil, it’s hydrogenated in industrial baked goods; also, it’s fully refined and deodorized to get a completely clear, tasteless, and odorless oil. These processes damage rapeseed oil’s nutritional profile.
But rapeseed oil itself isn’t that; it’s considered the olive oil of northern Europe, a seed oil high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are heart-healthy. We use unrefined rapeseed oil in our recipes, which is why our dishes are low in saturated fats—our rapeseed oil isn’t trans-fatty, it’s unrefined rapeseed oil.
The reason we use rapeseed oil instead of olive oil is that our meals are prepared in Poland, as you can see on the oval marking on the back of the package 'PL,' and rapeseed oil is a common healthy fat source in Polish homes. When considering oil options for our dishes, rapeseed oil was the best choice for availability, feasibility, nutritional profile (healthy), and stability (unlike other seed oils, it resists rancidity).
How Spicy Are They? We’ll Help You Choose!
Our Fit recipes are known for bold flavors in their sauces, thanks to ingredients with a notable umami profile and a wide variety of spices.
We love spicy food, and many of our recipes have a noticeable kick, so we want to help you pick a dish based on your spice tolerance. Here’s the spice ranking from hottest to mildest, with an explanation of how spicy you might find each recipe so you can choose without fear of getting it wrong.
- Pasta with chicken in Italian-style sauce.
- Chicken and rice in spicy Mexican-style sauce.
- Chicken and rice in Asian-style sauce.
- Chicken and rice in Indian-style curry sauce.
- Bulgur with chicken in French-style mustard sauce.
If you love spicy food, all our dishes are for you, since they all have at least a slight spicy aftertaste, though options like the French style are barely spicy.
If you can’t handle intense heat, avoid the Italian and Mexican styles; both have strong spicy flavors, rated by our testers as 4 and 3.5 out of 5, respectively—these two are especially for the bravest HSN lovers who can’t do without cayenne in their recipes.
The Asian and Indian dishes have bold flavors but milder heat, around 3 out of 5; if you like some spice but don’t want your mouth on fire, these are a good balance for most people—just the right level for almost any user, with enjoyable heat even if you’re not a spice lover.
Finally, the French-style recipe is very mild, with barely noticeable heat, rated 1 out of 5. For those who don’t like spicy food, its smooth and creamy mustard sauce lets you enjoy delicious flavor without the kick.
How Can They Keep Without a Fridge?
We get this question a lot since launching our first meals: 'How is it that if I prepare a recipe at home and store it, I have to throw it out in just a few days, but your meals keep for months without refrigeration and don’t go bad?' Here’s our answer:
You have to keep in mind that to achieve this, we don’t use additives. Our recipes are natural, but although inspired by traditional preparation, we do rely on industrial production processes that benefit ready meal users. What does that mean?
We’ve created an effective, additive-free room temperature preservation system—but it has conditions.
Our trays keep for months, but once opened, pierced, or the film removed, the meals become like those you make at home, and if not refrigerated, they spoil quickly, or even refrigerated, they’re only good for a few days.
This happens because preservation depends on the protective atmosphere created by a process called 'thermal sterilization,' which is natural and involves completely eliminating microorganisms by quickly heating (industrial scale) the meal above 100 ºC, then rapidly cooling it, and sealing the tray immediately after.
This process is what lets our natural recipes keep for months without refrigeration and without additives—and what sets them apart from homemade dishes.
