Triglyceride form

The omega-3 fatty acids are normally found free, as if loose, suspended in the oil, which predisposes them to more easily environmental degradation.

They can also appear as ethyl esters, chemically esterified forms after the degradation of natural triglycerides and the addition of ethanol.

Triglycerides are natural esterified forms of the Omega-3 fatty acids, where they join with a glycerol molecule.
